About Mixed Emotions

Mixed Emotions was established in 1996, making us the second oldest A Cappella group on campus! Our group, on average, includes
between 12 and 15 members a semester divided amongst voice parts (SATB). Music arrangements are done by current and former
members of the group. Our songs range from four to eight parts and song genres include anything from oldies to pop!
What exactly is A Cappella? It means WE make the music: no instruments, no accompaniments. Just background singing, beat-boxing,
vocal percussion, and soloist.
Mixed Emotions holds one major concert per semester to showcase the entire Repertoire. Other events throughout the year include
singing for fund raisers, charity events, various organization events, and road trip opportunities.
Auditions are held at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters. Auditions require singing scales, performing a chorus
and verse of any song you'd wish to prepare, and various harmonizing exercises. For more information, feel free to contact
us through our e-mail link!
